The whole weekend had been in the 70s and 80s and smelled like spring. It was warm enough that we were able to bust open the windows and let in some fresh air, which Autumn took full advantage of.
Joe also picked up some potted mums for me, as he knows I enjoy alternative flowers on holidays like this. Really brightens up the dining room.
I was then surprised by a delivery of flowers sent by my dad across the country. Huge bunch of roses and carnations in a gorgeous glass bowl. This served as our centerpiece for dinner.
I whipped up a yummy Italian meal: Tofu Parmesan over spaghetti; asparagus with tomatoes, pine nuts, and balsamic vinegar; and fresh caprese salad.
For dessert, we munched on homemade sugar cookies, chocolates that came with my dad's flowers, and sponge candy sent by Joe's parents. Fingers crossed that there'll be enough cookies left to take to work tomorrow.
To cap off the night, we watched the most romantic movie ever - Zombieland.
