Upcycled gifts

I follow quite a few green-living-crafty-handmade-eco-friendly-hippy blogs, and over time, I've noticed reviews for some nifty handmade and 'upcycled' apparel, jewelry, housewares, etc. So here are a few highlights if you're looking to eco-fy your lifestyle ... or you know ... just in case you were looking for the perfect gift ... for me ...

The Earth Glass Project Based in Pennsylvania, discarded glass bottles are turned into beautiful necklaces, earrings, and glassware. And it appears they do custom work, for that sentimental piece of glass you just can't throw away.

Simply Wood Rings Handcrafted rings made of oak, mahogany, birch, bamboo, and more. Can also be set with gemstones and metal to make a totally unique piece. Custom orders are welcome.

EcoTools Made of bamboo handles, recycled aluminum ferrules, and soft vegan taklon bristles and given the thumbs-up from Celeb vegan Alicia Silverstone. AND donates part of the proceeds to charity. What more could you want from a cosmetics accessory?

TweedlePress Send in your junk mail, used wrapping paper, instructions for that Ikea bookshelf you couldn't understand, and have it all turned into something useful! Stationary, cards, invitations, business cards, you name it.

Soaptopia Located in Mar Vista, CA, Soaptopia creates a wide range of all-natural soaps and and balms made from plant-based ingredients, essential oils, and raw shea butter. Indulge yourself.

  1. Ooooh. Soaptopia could be bad for my bank account. So many yummy things!
And the EcoTools are really, really nice. I have their kabuki brushes and they're super fluffy.

  2. I tried looking for the EcoTools at my local Target, since their website says Target carries them, but I didn't see them. I'll keep searching though.
