Fall reading roundup

It's that time of year again! The air is getting crisper. Butternut squash is at the farmer's market. I love this season.

And thus a new batch of books for me to focus on.

I'm a bit behind the times with 'Preacher,' which ended its run in 2000. A dark satiric story about a preacher who becomes possessed by the spawn of an angel and demon, and is in search of God to give him a piece of his mind.

I'm also a bit behind with reading 'Emily the Strange' too. Picked this copy up at Comic Con this year, where I saw that this publisher doesn't make its money from the books, but from all the merchandise. Bookbags, purses, tees, hair doo-dads - any accessory you can think of.

Another book I picked up a Comic Con, 'The New Dead,' is a collection of zombie short stories by popular zombie authors, like Max Brooks (who autographed mine). I'm looking forward to diving in to this one, just in time for Halloween.

  1. Ew... I didn't enjoy reading Preacher one bit. The other two look much more interesting to me :)

  2. Preacher is fantastic. It loses momentum about 2 books ahead, and then it lulls to the final edition.
