Many years go I took a stab at making clothes. Didn't go too well. Had trouble sizing to my shape. And I learned I was horrible with sleeves.
After buying a dress form, I decided to have another go. Found a pattern that looked easy and picked up some cheap fabric (just in case I messed up or hated it).

It came out better than I expected! And I was able to fit the sleeves perfectly on the first try! There are a few things I would change if I use this pattern again, but all in all, it came out well!

As I was cleaning out my closet last weekend of clothes to donate, I found an old dress I had forgotten about. Not a fan of the pattern - green floral dress with a sheet plaid overlay. But I like the style. So one of these days, I'm going to take it apart and use it as a pattern for a new dress to make. But this has a zipper - duhn Duhn DUHN... I'll keep you posted.
Super cute! Great job.
ReplyDeleteZippers are not as scary as one would think. Only took me 2 tries to get it right on one of my shirts that I am working on. Your machine has a zipper foot, yes?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's been quite awhile since I've tried a zipper on clothing. I fixed up an old skirt I made, and realized I did the zipper horribly. I tried to fix it the best I could. So hopefully my skills have improved since then and my next project will look better.
