For the kids, a table was set aside to decorate potholders for The Jewish World Watch Solar Cooker Project for Darfur refugees.

We were encouraged to bring our own supplies, but plenty of yarn was provided. And fancy yarns! We were even given some free yarn for our help (so much for trying to get rid of my stash).

During the four hour session, I ended up making a red shawl:

Since I do have a large stash of yarn, my goal is to make a bunch of items - hats, scarves, potholders, whatever - and give them to charity. Then I become a yarn snob - only pretty yarn for planned projects from then on!
