Remember that garbage bag I made for my car?

I recently saw a pattern from Crochet-world.com. Such a neat design, and seemed easy enough to make, but I don't need another afghan around here. Then the lightbulb went off - I've been thinking about it for awhile and this finalized the idea - a steering wheel cover!
During the hot LA summers, this will hopefully protect the wheel while I'm parked and when the cover is removed, I'll have a nice comfortable-temperature wheel to grasp. I followed the pattern until it reached the size of the wheel, then decreased the stitches gradually to wrap around the wheel.
But wait! That's not all.
Through the magic of Pinterest, I came across this super quick and easy pattern from Fiskars for a key chain. So, out of the leftover fabric, I whipped one up to make a set:
