And I wanted to be all professional so I bought a kit of carving tools (not the lame PumpkinMasters brand).
Turns out, the first pumpkin I carved was over 3 inches thick! I don't think I've ever had a pumpkin that thick. And because of that, I broke both my saws and had to resort to a butter knife and couldn't do the chest feathers like I had planned.
The second pumpkin was not as thick. Guess I should've started with this one. BUT it also didn't give me as many seeds to roast.
