With some time off from work, I was able to get some last minute Christmas crafts in.
From StephanieLynn I found these instructions for snowflakes made from hot glue. I had to make some changes though. I used parchment paper instead of wax paper (the glue was melting the wax!) and skipped the detergent part since it peeled just fine off the parchment paper.
Just like the wreath I made for Halloween, I made a bright snowflake-themed wreath made of blue and white tulle.
I also used a floral pick for the center snowflake - just clipped off the wire pick part.
I've been holding on to this one for awhile. Found the pattern at ApartmentTherapy.com. Seemed easy enough, though I was unable to make a nice even ball out of it. But it came out just as well. Bring on the smooches.
The last Christmas gift I made I finished around noon on Christmas. When shopping for the cats, I was looking at the toy selection at the pet store. I saw a cute one I like, and I figured the girls would like, but there was no way I was going to pay 5 bucks for it. So I decided to make my own version.
From scrap fabric, I made a pyramid design, adding in felt ears and tail, and thick cotton string for whiskers. I drew on the face with a permanent marker and stuff it with catnip.
