Superhero holiday:183 &184 of 365

I already made a small gift for the small kids in the family, but what about the older one? Boom! A homemade gift for another nephew: Marvel and DC character magnets in a drawstring bag.

Superhero magnets

SuppliesSupplies needed:
Clear flat-backed gems
Printed images
Exacto knife (& cutting board)
Mod Podge - Matte
Brush - foam or bristle
Paper Glaze
Glue - I used E600 for super glue would work too
Heavy duty magnets
Cut out picture Place your gem on top of the image you want to cut out, and trace tightly along the edge with the knife, and pop out of the paper.
Mod PodgeMod Podge Lightly spread some Mod Podge on the back of the gem. Make sure it's a thin layer - you don't want it goopy and hiding the image. Lay the image face-down on the Mod Podge; use your finger to smear out any bubbles. Let dry completely.
Paper glaze Once the Mod Podge has dried, cover the back of the image with a thick layer of paper glaze. This gives it a glossy finish. (Be sure to cover the entire back, because the glue you apply next will seep through and ruin the image if you don't - learn from my mistake!)
Glue magnet With a drop or two of glue, add the magnet to the back of each gem. Let dry completely.
