Garbage Desk organizer

A few weeks ago, I saw this project on ModPodgeRocksBlog.com and thought this would be a great craft for Earth week!. But the one in the pic seemed a little too big more my desk, so I kept the idea incubating.

Fate broke the news. In my sink. As Joe was washing dishes, one of my bamboo cutting boards broke right in half. He showed me the carnage and I knew immediately that one of those halves would make a great base for my organizer!

I saved up come cans, a toilet paper tube, and a random gift box I found. Picked up some scrapbook paper, ribbon, and paint and got straight to work.

Perfect fit for my desk at work. And keeps with my color scheme (remember my pillow and coaster?
