I made the unfortunate decision of getting a bike with a white seat. Didn't realize it at the time, but the first few times I wore jeans for a ride, my seat was turning blue! Kind of embarrassing to park it and know people could see the blue stains against bright white.
So I thought making a seat cover would be a great craft idea (and save me the moolah of buying a new seat).
I loved this shirt. I loved this shirt so much that it started to get discolored and holes were appearing. I was sad to say goodbye to it, but this way we'd have some more time together!
And it was very easy to make. Just made a rough pattern with wax paper, cut out the fabric, and made a 1" hem around the edge for the drawstring. I had to use a lot of pins to keep it from bunching too much.
nice job! totally love the bike too!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Since it's purple and yellow, people always think it's a Lakers bike. It's not I swear! I have no interest in basketball - I just liked the colors :)
ReplyDeleteGreat great idea! Love your purple t shirt choice too. How thick can you pad that sucker? haha...
ReplyDeleteTruly inspiring use of T shirt.

I am a big fan of reusing t-shirts. I thought I had seen it all until today. Fabulous project, going to try this one.
