Happy unofficial-post-Memorial-Day summer, everyone!
Though I had a three-and-a-half day weekend, it just never seems long enough, does it? I spent most of the weekend hanging out with friends, including the second of three Arrested Development parties.
On Friday afternoon, I finally got around to making new covers for my 26" floor pillows. This project's fun fact, however, is I made them without measuring an inch. I bought the fabric impromptu - just saw the fabric and had to get it. And I totally guessed at the size of my pillows at home. Also guessed the zipper size I would need. Then, for cutting the fabric, I just eyeballed it against the size of the pillows. And they actually turned out great! How often do I luck out with that?
The previous fabric I used was just basic home dec fabric. But this time, I used outdoor canvas. So now I can take these outside for our summer backyard happy hours and just wipe them clean when needed. And I plan to take them next weekend to my third AR party, which is an outdoor viewing party. I'll take these pillows plus the picnic denim blanket I made last year for a cozy night under the stars.
I was also able to squeeze in some more quilt blocks this weekend. I'm a little past halfway through my stack. And I think they're coming together nicely.
As June nears, the threat of a couple out-of-state work trips is hanging over my head. Starting next week, I won't really have time to craft/sew until the end of June! What's a girl to do?
